Scott Rocklage is the managing partner at 5AM Ventures he took over the responsibility in 2004. He joined 5Am ventures as Venture Partner in 2003. Dr. Rocklage has over 30 years of experience in the industry of healthcare management and scientific background that has cemented his credential as an expert in the industry.
When he joined the firm, his major responsibility was to acquire the FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approval for the three new drugs applications that included Cubicin, Teslascan and Omniscan. Dr. Scott Rocklage working station is located in Waltham, the other offices operated by the 5AM Ventures operated offices in San Francisco and California.

He held positions of CEO and President at Amersham Health, Executive Chairman and Co-President of llypsa, Inc. Apart from that, he worked in powerful positions in other organizations, for instance, he has served as Chairman of the Board at Cidara Therapeutics Inc and the Chairman of Novra Therapeutics Inc.
His work has enabled him to gain experience in areas of healthcare, science, and strategic leadership roles and allow him to become a competent leader and strategist in the industry of pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and venture capital.
Rocklage has a rich educational background. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkley. He joined MIT where he gained the doctorate in Chemistry.
At MIT, Rocklage researched in the laboratory of Richard R. Schrock. His research work enabled him to a Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry in 2005. He has also given immense contribution in solving existing problems. He has taken part as an inventor or co-inventor of more than 30 U.S. patents. Moreover, he has also authored over 100 publications that are subject to peer review.
It is without a doubt that Rocklage is a successful corporate leader. He believes that as a leader he should take a hands-on approach to building the companies and offering the initial investment dollar.
